Why is it important?

Many people are aware of child exploitation, but often feel helpless about how they can change it. However, our small actions can make a big difference. We need your help to build Child Safe Tourism. It’s only when people know about the simple things they can do while travelling, can we reduce the vulnerability of children to physical, emotional and sexual abuse.

So what can I do instead?

Take action to ensure tourism helps, and doesn’t harm, local communities and children. Talk to your friends, family and community about how to be a ‘Child Safe Traveller’, or share our actions with them online. If you are concerned for a child when travelling, tell your tour guide, hotel and fellow travellers. We are actively working with the tourism industry to build a child safe tourism environment and your actions will help our joint efforts.
